THE HARYANA - A Short View

 Haryana is a state located in the northern region of India. It was formed on November 1, 1966, by the partition of the former state of Punjab. The state shares its borders with Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The state capital is Chandigarh, which is also the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.

Haryana has a rich cultural heritage and is known for its vibrant folk music, dance, and cuisine. The state is famous for its traditional dance forms, such as the Ghoomar, Gugga, and Jhumar. The state's cuisine is a blend of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, with popular dishes including Makki ki Roti and Sarson ka Saag, Kadhi, Choley Bhature, and Murgh Makhani.

Haryana has a varied topography, with the Shivalik Hills in the northeast and the Aravalli Range in the south. The state is primarily an agricultural region, with wheat, rice, and sugarcane being the major crops. The state also has a thriving dairy industry, with Haryana being one of the largest milk-producing states in India.

Haryana has made significant progress in the field of education, with the literacy rate standing at 76.64% as per the 2011 census. The state has several renowned educational institutions, including the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra, Maharshi Dayanand University, and Kurukshetra University. Haryana also has a significant number of engineering colleges, management institutes, and medical colleges.

The state is home to several tourist attractions, including ancient temples, wildlife sanctuaries, and historical sites. The Golden Temple in Amritsar, which is considered one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, is located just a few kilometers from the Haryana border. The Sultanpur National Park, located in Gurgaon district, is a birdwatcher's paradise and attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Haryana is also known for its sports culture, with several athletes from the state having achieved international acclaim. Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and boxer Vijender Singh are two of the most well-known athletes from the state.

In terms of governance, Haryana has a unicameral legislature with 90 members in the state assembly. The state is led by a Chief Minister, who is assisted by a Council of Ministers. The state has made significant progress in recent years in terms of infrastructure development, with the state government launching several initiatives to improve road connectivity, water supply, and power supply.

In conclusion, Haryana is a state that offers a rich cultural heritage, diverse topography, and significant opportunities for personal and professional growth. With its thriving agricultural sector, robust education system, and strong focus on infrastructure development, the state is poised to emerge as a major economic powerhouse in the years to come.
